How I lived the Blue Zones Lifestyle this summer

I’ve been visiting my family in France for the past few weeks and it’s been such a delight to be in France, be with my family and pondering on what matters most.

Even though I grew up in France, I never really realized how my family’s lifestyle was pretty similar to those in the Blue Zones until I moved to the US.

The long meals, the community and gentle exercise have all been part of my life in the past few weeks and it’s so invigorating. I’m trying to think of ways to bring some of it back to the US, where everything feels fast and furious.

Taking the time to plan and prepare meals with my sister and my mom, savoring our morning coffee while chatting about the day ahead, having aperos while playing pétanque with my whole family, having a plant-based barbecue while debating the last trends, swimming, playing water games and laughing so hard that we can’t breath anymore; that’s life and joie de vivre. These are moments that I want to keep experiencing and sharing with my loved ones. This is what matters to me.
